Self Guided Canoe, Kayak, and Standup Paddleboard Trips at Hickory Hill on Falls Lake

Hickory Hill on Falls Lake in Northern Durham County is a shallow area of Falls Lake popular for wading birds. Common bird sightings here include Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Egrets (Great White Herons), variety of ducks, and Cormorants.

Self-Guided trips provide the equipment while you provide the adventurous spirit. Their guides will not be on the water for you but will remain on shore to assist you when you need them.

Reservation/Payment must be made prior to arrival.

Kayaks and Standup Paddleboards are for a SINGLE PADDLER. Canoes are for 2 PADDLERS (with 1 small adult or child non-paddler in center). Price is per boat.

Trips run 2.5 or 4 hours. Head back early if you want, staff are there to assist you at any time.
