Leroy T. Walker Complex

The LeRoy T. Walker Physical Education and Recreation Complex at North Carolina Central University is the university’s premier hub for athletics, wellness, and community recreation. Named in honor of Dr. LeRoy T. Walker, an esteemed coach, educator, and Olympic leader, the facility offers a wide range of state-of-the-art amenities that support both competitive athletics and student well-being.

Inside, the complex features multiple gymnasiums, an Olympic-sized swimming and diving pool, fitness and strength-training spaces, and areas for group exercise and informal recreation. With a seating capacity of roughly 1,500, it hosts basketball, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics, synchronized swimming, and numerous other events, serving as both a campus and community destination. More than just a sports facility, the Walker Complex embodies NCCU’s commitment to health, wellness, and excellence, while honoring the legacy of one of the university’s most influential figures.
