C.M. Herndon Park is 25.18 acres, is managed by Durham Parks and Recreation and is one of Durham’s facilities perfect for sports tourism. With two turf fields, including one championship field, Herndon Park can host a variety of events.

Nestled in South Durham, Triangle Curling Club is a four-sheet, dedicated curling facility serving the Raleigh-Durham community. Covering about 14,500 square feet, the club offers a warm, welcoming environment where curlers of all ages and skill levels come together. Inside, you’ll find four sheets of ice maintained with high-quality care, a large warm room/lounge with kitchen and TV viewing, changing/restroom facilities, and modern amenities like free WiFi, streaming access, and a full bar. The North Carolina Central University Track & Field Facility, located on East Lawson Street in Durham, serves as the training and competition hub for the NCCU Eagles track and field teams. The facility boasts an eight-lane, newly resurfaced BSS 2000 RE track surface by Beynon Sports, providing athletes with a high-quality running surface. Athletes have access to multiple long/triple jump pits, dual pole vault areas, high jump zones, and a javelin runway. The facility also includes a shot put area and cages for hammer and discus throws, accommodating a wide range of track and field events.

O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium is the longtime home of NCCU Eagles football, a place where tradition, student life, and the pulse of the community meet under Saturday lights. With a capacity of around 10,000 and a recently upgraded FieldTurf surface, the stadium offers both modern playability and the nostalgia of a storied past. The name “O’Kelly” reaches back to Cadd G. O’Kelly, an early campus steward who helped clear the land that became the university’s first athletic field.

Over the years, O’Kelly-Riddick has hosted more than just football games, it’s the setting for NCCU’s homecoming showdowns, roaring pep rallies, spring “Maroon & Gray” scrimmage games, and signature events like the 2023 National Championship Parade and pep rally celebrating the football team’s HBCU National Championship victory.
