The historic, newly renovated Durham Athletic Park is available for special events and baseball rentals year-round. The DAP, filming location for the hit film “Bull Durham,” is also home to the North Carolina Central University baseball team. The DAP is available to host single baseball games, multi-game series, showcase events, scouting events, batting practice and tournaments. The ballpark features home and visitor dugouts along with bullpen benches.

The Durham Bulls Athletic Park is the nationally acclaimed home of the Durham Bulls Triple-A baseball club, made famous by the 1988 movie Bull Durham. Designed by the same architects who created the historic Camden Yards in Baltimore, Durham Bulls Athletic Park includes a 32-foot-high left field wall dubbed the Blue Monster, complete with a towering bull on top, terrific views from each of the 10,000 seats in the park, and a brick design that both hearkens back to baseball’s storied fields (including the original Durham Bulls stadium) and matches the historic tobacco warehouses surrounding the stadium. The DBAP can host just about anything and past events include the 2014 Triple-A All-Star Game, the DBAP eSports Gaming Challenge, ACC Baseball Championship, numerous concerts, & Nitro Circus Live!

One of the Duke University baseball team homes is picturesque Jack Coombs Field, built in 1931. With a seating capacity of 2,000, the left field wall stands 325 feet from home plate while the left field power alley stands 370 feet away and center field is an even 400 feet from the plate. Right-center has deepened to 375 feet while right field has also been pushed back slightly to 335 feet. Jack Coombs Field is a scenic venue enclosed by trees and hills. A tree-lined view sits behind the outfield wall, and a natural hill sits along the first base line for additional fan seating.
