The Durham Convention Center is the city’s premier venue for gatherings of all types, such as NC Comicon and Durham Sports Commission events like the Emerging Women in Sports Leadership Summit and the McLendon Experience. . With over 35,000 square feet of flexible event space, including two grand ballrooms, multiple meeting and board rooms, the Center is equipped to host everything from large banquets and trade shows to more intimate seminars and workshops.

Part of the broader Durham Convention & Arts Complex (“DPlex”), the Convention Center is nestled alongside the Carolina Theatre, Durham Arts Council, and Durham Armory, creating an arts-and-culture-rich environment for event planners and attendees alike. Its prime downtown location provides easy access to hotels (including the Downtown Durham Marriott), restaurants, shops, galleries, and a walkable urban vibe.

Inside, the facility boasts a Grand Ballroom that can hold up to about 1,700 people in theater style, plus smaller divisible sections and boardrooms for more focused sessions. Audio-visual, catering, and exhibitor support are offered on site, helping make event planning smoother.

The Durham Armory is located on the corner of Foster and Morgan streets and is available for rentals for your community or private event, whether it is a fundraiser, concert, wedding reception, seminar or family reunion. Seating capacity is 585 with balcony seating for 314.
